Planter S’mores

DIY

There’s nothing that should stop you from enjoying your evening with s’mores! Maybe you live in an apartment complex, or maybe you’re still procrastinating on that backyard firepit you’ve been planning to build.. we don’t judge. But we are here to help save the day! With just a few items from your local garden or superstore, you can host an evening of s’mores and backyard shenanigans!

What you’ll need:

  • a small terra cotta planter

  • a handful of charcoal

  • some tin foil

  • a splash of lighter fluid

  • a lighter

  • of course, all of the s’mores goodies.

How it works:

  1. Start by lining your clean terra cotta pot with a layer of tin foil. It doesn’t matter which side is facing up, just make sure it doesn’t split and it’s got the inside of the pot covered.

  2. Place a few pieces of charcoal into the pot, making sure they don’t extend higher than the tin foil.

  3. Next, carefully add a splash of lighter fluid on the coals. Be sure you don’t make a mess and try to get the fluid only on the coals.

  4. Carefully light the coals with a lighter and let them burn for a few minutes to get any residue off before you start roasting the marshmallows.

  5. Once you’re ready, use some long wooden skewers and start the s’mores evening!
