DIY Pumpkin Candles

DIY

These small pumpkins always seems to be the first offering of fall each year. So if you’re eager to get started with the fall decor, here’s a fun simple idea to get the autumn season started on the first day!

Things you’ll need:

  • Mini pumpkins

  • Sharp knife

  • Spoon for scooping

  • Double-broiler or 2 saucepans for candle wax

  • Candle wax

  • Essential oils (opt.)

  • Candle wicks

Carve—

Start by trimming the tops off of the mini pumpkins. I’d aim for just below the top curve so you still have a good amount of depth. Then use a small spoon to scoop out the pumpkins until they are nice and clean.

Melt —

Using a double broiler or the two-saucepan method, slowly melt your wax until its all clear. Be sure to add any essential oils or scents right after it melts!

Fill —

Dip the metal end of the wick just barely into the melted wax and place in the center of the carved pumpkin - let it dry to keep it secure. Then carefully pour the melted wax into the pumpkin, keeping the wick upright. Let the wax cool and trim the wick!
