Our Master Bedroom Mini-Makeover

And so it begins..

After a long and sweaty weekend, we are officially moved into our first home! The very first thing we did was create a little sanctuary in our bedroom so while the rest of the house is under construction and piled with boxes, we have at least one room to escape to and breathe. The master bedroom really didn’t require much work. Here’s a little breakdown + before/after of our room.

Excuse the trash and terrible messes - it was not a pretty time lol. The bedroom was originally this terrible and sad blue color. I couldn’t last another day looking at it. So I jumped right into painting it. After testing a couple different whites, I landed on Solid Opal from Behr. It’s the perfect white; not too cold but still clean and bright. I also decided to paint all of the trim in that color as well which really helps the trim blend and disappear into the wall. I love it.

The only other thing I did was replace the blinds with these very minimal ones from IKEA (you cant even tell I have blinds, I love that) and we added some curtains that I had on hand. We still need to replace the ceiling fan and the register covers but that will come with time. For now, this is a very calming and serene space for me to hide away in.
