Winter Apartment Tour

CHRISTMAS IN … NOVEMBER?!

I caved.
I’ve always been a firm believer that Christmas and winter only happens after Thanksgiving. But for some reason, this year turned me into a totally different person. I got about 80% of my winter decor out early this year and then suddenly we’ve gotten so much early snow! We’re currently living in a bright winter wonderland right now. Everything is covered in snow! And it’s only November 15th!?

It definitely took me some time to try and figure out a furniture placement when bringing this new tree out. I’ve always loved having a Christmas tree in front of the window but with this room already being pretty dark, I didn’t want to sacrifice anymore sunlight. So I knew I wanted it to be seen right when you walk in the front door. The probably was that we have these two massive accent chairs in the living room that wouldn’t fit in any way.
So I took one to the office along with some other small pieces of furniture to make some more room. But then the spot in front of the window was way too open. So I spontaneously bought a new bench + Scavenger loooves this bench.

tree: Walmart | bench: Amazon | bulb lamp: Amazon

I was kind of excited to decorate the bedroom because I now have an excuse to put string lights up around the window. If you remember my previous apartment tour post, this room is so, so dark. So anytime I can add some more warm light, I’ll take it. I added some greenery here + there as well.

This is a room that I have more plans for but I’ll get there later. For now I added some simple greenery (and obviously the Iowa Pine Mrs. Meyers soap). That large white, obnoxious thing above the sink is a horrendously ugly light. It’s safe to say that it’s never turned on. I decided to use it as a support for some garland and then draped some small lights into it.

& there you have it.

The start of our little winter home. And now, Scavenger + I are going to cuddle up and watch this snow fall together.
