Three Campfire Recipes

We tested out some new campfire recipes this past weekend while camping in the Smokies and they were definitely good enough to write home about!

 
Campfire Pizza

Instructions

  1. Oil your cast iron pan and stretch the pizza dough in the bottom. Cook over the fire for about 10 minutes until the dough is browned on the bottom.
  2. Flip over the crust and then add your sauce and toppings. Place back over the fire until the other side is browned and the cheese is melted.
 
Mountain Hash

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a cast iron skillet. Add the sausage, onion and green pepper. Cook over fire until sausage is cooked through.
  2. Add the hashbrowns (or cook seperately if you totally forgot to add them in … lol) and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the beaten eggs and cook until eggs are fluffy. Add the cheddar cheese and serve.
 
Hobo Packets

Instructions

  1. Combine seasonings in a jar before you go to make your life a little easier!
  2. Add all of the sliced and diced ingredients to the center of a tin foil sheet (make sure it’s big). Add a tbsp of butter and a splash of seasonings and combine.
  3. Seal up the foil very tightly and cook directly on the firewood or coals for about 8-15 minutes. Add some extra butter and enjoy!
