Apartment Tour!

COME ON IN!

I did my last apartment tour back in march of 2018 and it was in our last apartment, We’ve moved since then! And if you didn’t know.. we literally moved across our parking lot into a similar but larger version of our last apartment. This apartment features wood flooring in the living room plus it’s a 3 bedroom so the third room is now used as my studio!

Grab a cup of coffee, cozy up, + take a look around.

LIVING ROOM

This is our main room. I spend more time in here than anywhere else. When we first moved in, I wasn’t much of a fan except for the flooring. We have a huge window but there’s a huge tree directly in front of it. It blocks allll of our sunlight (sad face). But it’s good, free entertainment for Scavenger! This section will have more photos than the rest.. mainly cause it’s got the most stuff goin’ on.

This is the first thing you see when you walk into our apartment. This is the coffee table my dad + I built together. The couch and chair were found on Varagesale! (And I found them both from seperate sellers.. a pretty cool coincidence!)

The side table + the record stand were both custom built.

Our lamp is from Amazon and Target
Our bench is from Amazon
Our rug is from RugsUSA.
Our record player is from Amazon.

Annnnnnd, what I stare at 80% of my day..
This console table was custom built by my dad, dylan, + myself. It’s the same one that I had in my last apartment tour but I recently took some paint to it and removed the handles. I kind of wanted a more seamless, Scandinavian look to it.
-
All of my baskets are thrifted or clearance finds (why are these baskets so expensive?!)

Below, you’ll find our mock “entry-way” / filler wall.
The layout for this apartment is quite odd. This wall is awkwardly placed and it’s hard to really put much here. Plus, they have the only internet output here so something has to go here to hide that.. I found this vintage bench at Goodwill and it works pretty dang well here.
This massive macrame/mirror hanging was a piece I made and it’s
available for purchase here!

KITCHEN

Another room that I wasn’t too thrilled about.
I traded my white cabinet + ceramic tile kitchen in for this one that has oak cabinets + it had nothing on the walls..
just drywall. So.. I went at it with a temporary backsplash!
I got these TicTacTiles from Amazon and man.. it completely changed this room.

I’m completely obsessed with this runner.
It was my bestfriend Alisa’s grandmothers + it’s totally my viiiibe.

I decided to embrace the light oak wood in this room and I built this counter-height table for the kitchen! I’m in love with the way it turned out. This kitchen is slightly smaller than our last so I tried to really open it all up by having higher seating + building some corner shelving.

BEDROOM

It’s still a work in progress.. I can’t lie. I love the feeling this room has but it could use some work. It’s another dark room due to having a forest directly outside our windows on the north side. But this room does get some stunning golden hour light in the evening.

The headboard was custom built as well as the bedside tables.
-
The center pillow is from Amazon.
Our lamps are from Ikea
The throw is from 2017 Target - (here’s a similar one)
The duvet cover is from Shein.

I fiiiiinally got a vanity table you guys. For about 7 years now, I’ve done my hair + makeup while sitting on the floor in front of a full-length mirror. I finally decided it’s time to be an adult and actually do this whole female thing properly. …I can’t believe I’ve lived without this table now. I’m in loooove.

Vanity table is from Amazon.
Round mirror is from IKEA.
(A mirror comes with the table but it was a bit small and I wanted to replace it).

STUDIO

This room is a mess… all the time. Which is exactly how it should be! This is where my creativity runs wild. I like the idea of this room being kind of empty feeling, like a blank canvas. When I take in a new job for a client, I like to have this feeling of a fresh start.

So it may seem lack-luster or maybe even really confusing. But it’s basically a science to me. :)

I get asked a lot where I get a lot of my props.
And the answer? Everywhere.
Target, Goodwill, Ross, TJ Maxx, Varagesale.

OFFICE

Annnnnd the office.
Where do I start.
There’s not much in here but our computers and Scavengers tower. We really just come in here to work and then leave. We’ve had some grand plans to create a lounge area but who really knows if that will ever happen.
I’m not really sharing this room for any “goals” purposes or any design ideas… I guess just to really give you the full tour and to be truly honest LOL.
