Kitchen Dreams

The kitchen is truly the heart of our home. Although it’s severely outdated and could use a new footprint, it’s still where I prefer to spend most of my time. From the moment we first toured this house, I’ve had ideas buzzing about how to renovate our kitchen and make the most out of it.

I’ve been really into the idea of mixing natural elements and hinting at a Spanish modern aesthetic. My dream is having a marble-esque counter on the middle island and dark butcher block around the perimeter. I want to reface our existing cabinets with classic shaker doors, all painted in a creamy off-white.

For the wall behind the cooking station, I’d love to go with a creamy ceramic subway tile to keep it bright and easy-ish to clean. And behind the coffee station, this stone ledger tile would be absolutely stunning. I’m also toying with the idea of adding an arch around those shelves above the coffee station (like the image below).
